Moving on, is a simple thing, what it leaves behind is hard.

After 39 years as a Marriage and Family Therapist I am retiring from my Therapy Practice and no longer taking any new clients.

If you are a former client and want to reach me, please send an email message to me at: jbgmft@gmail.com. If you are viewing my website because you are looking to begin therapy, I am happy to recommend several resources for your consideration. If you are covered by insurance, you may wish to check with your insurance company.

I have been extremely fortunate in my professional career because people have chosen to share their life stories with me. I have always believed that the first step in achieving fulfillment is looking inward and looking backward. My career has been dedicated to assisting people to adapt to changes in their life. The only thing we can ever know for certain is that more change is going to come. It is important for each of us to recognize what things we have the power to change and what we do not. At this moment I am reminded of the wise words of the scholar and author Joseph Campbell “We must let go of the life we have planned, so as to accept the one that is waiting for us”.  As you look forward and move on in your life, I encourage you to continue to gain more insight from your own personal story.

My treatment records will remain under my care, custody, and control for seven years after I have stopped seeing you. After that time they are destroyed. If you should ever need access to your files, please email me at: jbgmft@gmail.com.
